Grenade

I read a lot about MA and pistol engis...what's abour grenade?
Found a OT Hurler last week and was thinking how it will work out with my lvl 120 Engi...someone tried grenade?
Don't have much hp and let my Slayer do the work...but sometimes I like to hit "q" if i know I'm save and do a bit dmg.^^

It depends a bit on the level range. At level 120, pistol isn't very good yet because the best pistols are levellocked (Pain of Patricia to 175, Master Engineer Pistol to 190). To selfcast Slayerdroid Transferance, the nano that is required to be a viable MA engi, you'll be level 160ish at least too.
The OT Hurler has nice low requirements and is cheap in IP (only one skill to raise + ranged init), while MA is more expensive and Pistol usually comes with a few specials and MultiRanged. This is a good thing at 120 where IP is not plentyful yet.

One of the stronger problems with grenade though, is that the Hurler is pretty much the only good weapon available. At lower level you'll have nothing to use, and at higher level pistols will do more damage and MA even more.

I tried grenade around 160. It lasted about 2 levels before I went back to pistol. From the stats, and at your level, it might be worth a go. For a few levels at least anyway.

Red Line Grenade Launcher's are pretty good for low levels ;).
Attack rating cap 2500
So it can be used later as well I guess ;).

Grenade weapons are only good if you are making a twink and you want to selfcast the biggest bot you can, since grenade imps don't clash with mc/ts imps.

They are bad because they have no specials, they are slow and have low ammo. The only decent grenade weapon is the 000 (or actually C01) upgrade but has insane skill requirement.

Get this instead.
