Level 1 PVP - Discussions

Post by WorldTrader » Fri May 04, 2007 10:04 pm

The thought of a level 1 pvp twink is very interesting...sitting around today I was wondering what the best choice for a profession would be.

I wondered...

how high an implant can I actually equip
what is the biggest ncu I can get
what nanos would possibly be available to me (per profession)

Breed would make a very large impact at this level.
Treatment will likely not be a factor but Base abilities will.

Professions of my choice are:
Agent, Martial Artist, Doctor, Fixer (in that order for fighting self buffed)

Here's my thoughts on breed...
Atrox (high hp, decent physical stats for implanting)
Opifex (high agility for implanting and evades)
Solitus (decent all around for versatility)
Nanomage (high nanoskills for wider toolset of nanoprograms, high ncu)

Atrox is a SAFE choice. But Nanomage interests me in terms of potential.

i dunno, i see a lot of potential in a lvl1 fixer, not sure on the race tho. i mean the HoT's at that level could make a hell of a difference

Stamina is easyest to buff comparing to Agi ... I guess that's why Opi are the "best" twink ... (for implant QL)

I've been working out some twink ideas, one of em was the energy scythe from totw on a trader, fast attack looks doubtful though, sure it can be done though.

My level 1 idea i came up with however, has an unstoppable alpha, no-one stands a chance. That however, remains a secret ;)
Reidstrader - 21 trader twink
Reidsadvy - 74 adv twink
Omglieklazer - 76 doc twink
Reidsmp - Retired 76 mp twink
Reidsagent - 91 Agent twink
Reidscrat - 114 crat twink
Reidsnt - 165 NT twink
Reidventurer - 192 adv (220 inc)
Ertist - 220 MA

All omni and on RK1, send me a tell ;D

There was a level 1 ffa tournament on RK2 (selfbuffed) and a trox adv with cycling absorbs (+heals) won.

For an upcoming level 1 PvP tourney, I've been able to twink on QL 39 implants (Agility based). An orgmate of mine got into some 42-43ish Stamina based implants. I've been playing with an Evades-based Fixer, with a QL 13 SOL 94-K Baby Monster. I found that against my orgmates, I keep hitting for minimum damage. So a better option might be to use a couple OT Viper IX, but it would be slower. I'm probably going to end up using a pair of Candy Cords for my rings. With my high evades (from implants and a full set of the OT Tailor Opifex suit) and a Vagabond Cloak, it's almost like wearing grid armor, especially if you are able to cast the Inexperience debuffs. -10 Attack skill is very significant at QL 1.

Still, I find myself rooting and shooting a lot. One of my orgmates has an Enforcer, and if he gets a Brawl Stun or the lowest Challenger off, I'm pretty much dead meat, unless I manage to root and get away. The good news is that with the evades and AAD from the Vagabond Cloak, it's very rare that I get hit with a full alpha of anything.

The secret to my success? I can cast all of the Proficiencies and Augment line self-buffed. It takes a while to buff, but afterwards, I can self cast all of my lowest nanos, including the root and snare and the lowest short HoT, which helps when rooting and shooting. I might be better off with some Omni Med Suit Sleeves, but I'm able to use QL 5 Treatment Labs and First Aid Kits as is. My main issue is running out of Nano.

Remember, folks of all levels can use the SL buffing rings made from SL Gems. This really helps in the twinking.

I'm also considering using a Lasting Heal graft. I think I'll be able to use it without much buffing.

One last note: This is an incredibly evil weapon, especially when paired with a low QL Kinetic Axe.

I worked on a lvl 1 Fixer all weekend, then accidently dinged her as I didn't realise JUST RUNNING INTO RANGE OF DRAKE RODRIGUEZ WILL DING YOU!! Not even Brandon Thorn does that unless you open chat with him... sigh.. reroll. Never go near those guys. I did get to field test her a bit first.

Anyhoo, she's Opifex, with ql 50/51 agi based implants in the majority of slots. AS, Burt and Fling dual weilding ql 13 weapons and its working out pretty good. Vagabond Cloak has no better at this lvl, she hardly gets hit at all.
I was able to upload both Long and Short HoT (which was my primary goal) but didn't have enough nano pool to cast either of them (which I hadn't thought about! :D ), so have to change a few bits of gear this time round, can't really fit too much of that into my implant setup.

I did some missions to try and build up a token board but you get a fantastic choice of lvl 1 missions... or lvl 1 missions. Even though I killed everything I got no mention of % chance for token and did not receive any. Don't know why but I really want that board.

Well I finished the retwink and even improved a bit.. she now has enough nano pool to cast both long and short HoTs.

>Livenletdie<

Oh yeah I should add that I made her on a paid account... this allowed me to use Composite Attributes and Combat buffs... without them it may be possible but I was really really tight for NCU and it may not work to try and fit multiple individual expertises particularly when it comes to equipping Concrete Cushions and stuff like that.

I'm not sure of the viability of Nanomages for getting more nanos happening... if you look across the nanos for any profession... the jump in skill requirements between nanos is too high to use more than the first or second bottom nanos, and any of the breeds can to implant into those. Also Intelligence and Psychic are not as easy to buff, NS and Int pistols are about all you can use.

I'm considering a change of implants though and maybe going some Full Auto... the Onehander is just puss unless it crits and 2% chance is not much.

I've played with Vipers on a low fixer, not recommended.
