Lvl 150 NT pvp twink setup

Post by littletoon » Thu Sep 20, 2012 12:47 pm

Hey guys, i am fairly new to pvp and was wondering of a setup i should use for a lvl 150 froob pvp twink. I was thinking of using NS2/Unionist Arbalest but I was wondering what gear i should use and what to put ip into.

Thanks

I think you need to specify what kind of PvP are you planning to do. Towers, Battle Station, Duels, Sneaky Ganking or something else?

I guess there is no way around evade setup. Evades + Roots + Blinds + Run Speed for defense and NS2 for emergencies. That is what I would try but never done PvP on those levels so no idea.

I did quite a bit of L150 NT PvP myself way back then. It's quite a deadly froob profession to play at that level (I would say 2nd to traders). I would assume that being L150, you intend on going purely for battlestations (which unfortunately doesn't run). I.e. to say your main concern would be being able to survive sloob onslaughts.

Unfortunately against well-equipped sloobs, evade setups don't work too well. Most perks tear right through evades and that's when your NS2 comes in. I would suggest going for a high NR build first. Get a good Enfraam's buff, morphing memory, fractured nightmares, and possibly even storm carb. Get in as much health as possible using Miys, and use a 4/5 illusionist's reanimator cloak.

mmm thats too high level for NT imo.
id go for level 120 or so, evades, blinds, ruinspeed NS2, NR and full deff, with much stackings you can do some towers.

The problem with NT is that to use any of the other parts of his skills sets other thanks nukes and NS2 like absorbs and roots of decent ql u desperately need the MC/ts/bm/si... buffs from armour. What i usually found is that better the armour= lower the buffs it gives. Thus the need for NS2 for any nt twink

I'd say you definitely need to be Solitus or even Atrox for the health.

Evades maxed with evades and NR setup, NS 1 or 2 is a must, but more importantly you need a good knowledge of NT nukes and various types.

For example, you will need the anti-GA nukes, as well as Ole Faithful, Candycane? and the one that freezes people. Your gameplay will be more like an MA, trying to find the correct attack to disable certain classes.

I'd go with MA as your weapon, although rifle is a close second. The reason I say MA is for the flower of life heals, upon a wave of summer +NR buff and so forth the attacks could be very useful. You could also use a bow aimed shot if that's your fancy.

Area blind, nuke, aimed shot, and run and root if you can't kill your opponent in 20 seconds because chances are you're toast.

Wow serious necro :P

Fully agree with Solitus/Atrox suggestion. So long as you can cast IEF (which shouldn't be too hard), you don't get need that much more MC to get anything else. Whatever few points of MC you can squeeze out is unlikely to make a difference in you landing your nukes. On the other hand, max health can be extremely important for high level PvP. More important than evades I daresay. A NT can't possibly get enough evade points to not get perked at that level. If you're up against other froobs, only then will your evades work well.

Candycane is castable only at L195. And yes, Crown of Frost is a must.

Disagree with MA. Flower of Life heals will not fire off anyone who has placed points into evades and has AAD implants (i.e. almost everyone :P ). Upon a Wave of Summer is for MA profs only. Would be neat if you could use them though.

I take it Brian, that you'd recommend an aimed shot weapon then instead?

Flower of Life is simply a bonus if it happens to land. The parry sticks evades bonus is really why you'd use MA. I didn't realize you can't use Wave though, that would be your key defense against traders.

Is it actually viable to try to resist drains in 150 BS? If not, maybe max concealment and rely on alphaing traders or catching them fighting somebody else.

Well might be a little off topic but i do a lot of pvp(mostly duels) with my 158 enfo. Evades doesn't really work(unless you're a ga4 fixer) atleast not against enfos and most other profs have aimed shot or something nasty. Now if i remember correct NT's is the only prof that has roots that doesn't break on rage? if that's so that will be your best weapon against any melee prof.
NS2 is obviously a must but tbh i don't know how much it will change. My enf for example, i doubt you'd be able to kill him before ns2 runs out cause its quite short, and after its out it wont take long to alpha an NT :P

Basically what i want to say i think you need a little out of the box thinking and really utilize your toolset to be a good pvp NT. Also i said evades aren't that great but they are definitely necessary, you will evade a lot against other profs and it will give you some backup defense against enfos or other high AR profs.
NT might be a bit tough but it is certainly viable if done right, don't expect to facetank too much though.
