Impact of the Daily Missions

Got something related to in-game that doesn't really fit elsewhere? This is the place.

Impact of the Daily Missions

Post by WeeScotsman » Thu Dec 30, 2010 2:22 pm

Personally, I've noticed my game habits have changed since the daily missions.

I'll log a 150+ toon ....do the dailies....then log another one and do dailies...and maybe even a 3rd toon :)

The amount of Xp and tokens from the daily missions means its hardly worth doing the 210 BS missions like we used to.

but the 210 missions were fun ( in moderation)...and the constant toon swapping means a lack of ingame identity...but then the xp is nice from the Dailys.

Any thoughts on this?

Totally agree. The dailies have led to BS/IS teams becoming redundant. It is just too good a xp/token reward.

I can see Daily Missions making these changes in player behavior:

1. Fewer "experience runs" on first floor IS (as noticed above)
2. Token farming no longer a feasible means of earning cash.
3. Feasible now for Froobs to scavenge souls from Escaped Prisoners because over-200 players kill as a Daily Missions.
4. Fewer players leveling on outdoor playfields: Places like Borgs and the dyna boss camps get a lot less attention.
5. Everybody seems to be level 200 nowadays.

As a level 200 Froob, my Daily Missions include Rats!, Bar Run, Dog Trainer, and the Shop Hack. I still do them all, except for the Bar Beer Sales one (takes too long to repeat) just for fun. I got nearly 4,000 tokens; maybe FC should put a new uber token board into the game for me!

Says who? Just because you choose to not run RK mishes for tokens and creds in favor of Dailies for tokens and XP doesn't mean that way is less feasible than it was before.

"3. Feasible now for Froobs to scavenge souls from Escaped Prisoners because over-200 players kill as a Daily Missions. "

That's been a really positive thing for me, rather than harrassing lvl 220 org mates to kill prisoners.

I do notice that there are fewer people around for buffs, teams, etc. There's a compulsion to get the DM done and move onto the next toon. No time for teaming until you get to 200.

Is there a froob lvl 200-ish raid bot on RK1, btw?

(RK1) Level 200 froob raids
Thats the whole story from start to finish. Well worth a read if just to see the trials, successes and failures of past raids. The bot is Froob200.

In the Titlefiveplus bot you can type

!nextraid

To tell you about the next raid. However, at least from a few days ago, raiding seems to be on holiday break. If not now, something will be posted later in the new year...
