o.0 using a neutrino at level 95-174?
The cooperator(yay)/spastic(eww) are just too hard/expensive to get as a froob...I won't add it to the list, but i think that soldiers with enough skill to use it are already aware of it.

Personally I used the Cineration Champ on my soldier in my 150s and 160s and it wasn't a bad gun... It's quick enough to be used with a Vision Enhancer to make every crit count like burst :)

I have to say it though... don't use an assault rifle, use blackbirds. They will outperform assault rifles in most situations up to lvl 200 all the way unless you need a big alpha (Unique camping) or a high attackrating (Mercs, Dustbrigade generals etc, raids).

Well you can't beat dual Blackbirds at that level range. When you get up into TL5/6 you can change back to assault rifles.

Why aren't you complaining about my engie using MA? :P
BBBs are one of the best froob weapons and you can get them on fairly early. So why not?

Soldiers have buffs for and low IP cost in most ranged skills. You're not forced into using an assault rifle, which weapon you chose depends on your goal.
My goal on my soldier was pvm damage on not outrageously high level mobs, and the blackbirds are best for this. Combined with the high speed you gain a lot of defence from going full def. On my totw soldier I use a rifle because it fits my situation best.
Assault rifle is a good option since you get the highest attackrating if you use this but it's not the best damage or best choice for overall performance including solo survivability on your every day target.

  • The Solar-Powered Assault Rifle should be upgraded to a BO-18 asap on the newbie island.
  • Why should I use a Nophex II at level 200 with the Hellguns around? I only remember two very special cases where I used a Nophex at 200 so far (ignoring the demonstrator case).
  • Nophex II can be put on usually at early to mid TL4 levels, and has some perks the Div9 doesn't have.
  • Using a Nova Flow IV beyond TL4 is out of question. That's what Nophex II and Div9 are there for.
  • Cinerations are indeed dyna loot.
  • XCI-52 Eradicator for lower levels, because they are fast.
  • BBI Gyros "level" with the player, which makes it difficult to get their special timers down; these stay about the same; not the fastest, but not too shabby, either.
  • ICSFs last you up 'til 200, at least for leveling.
  • Why list all the high level stuff, but exclude the turn spirit guns then? :P
  • For completeness: There are some Nophex I guns around.

The XCI-52 Eradicator line should be repeated until blue in the face because everyone seems to ignore them. It is my weapon of choice prior to the Neutrino Flash. I used it well into the ToTW levels with good results and would have continued to use it for a little longer but for the SoM revamp.

ofc, forgot the upgraded noob island gun...
I have no experience on RE weapons beside of Div 9 so i just temporally added that silly list.
Seems eradicator is now obsolete since we have the neutrino?
Is the ICSF better than the hellguns?
Turn spirit weapons are just too much i think. I added all the high lvl stuff because i tought "well if im making a list, i'll make it all the way to lvl 200"
anyways, nice info.

The BO-18 wears thin at about 15, latest 20, and putting on a Neutrino Flash is an interesting challenge for froobies at these levels. The XCI-52 is a nice gun to cover the gap. Newcomers, unless lucky or very determined won't have access to the Neutrino Flash for a while, anyway ...

Yes and no. There are a lot if's and depends involved. To simplify things: It's definitively good for leveling up to 200 (assuming a high QL ICSF) and plays in the same league as the Hellguns with a proper setup. However, the low min damage and high attack timer limits it's usage scenarios.

You can try and find a ICSF; unless you are lucky you may get enough cash together in doing this to buy the parts for a turn spirit weapon. Admittedly, your money and time is probably better invested in other things, i.e. NCU memories, or one of the higher AR / FA buffs (if you can't find them yourself). With the fast specials the turn spirit assault rifles are a good choice for PvP.

Could someone recommend a decent stopgap weapon between level 18 and 24, when I twink for the Neutrino Flash? (Subway twink) The solar AR is starting to get rather sucky, and I'd rather not twink on the Flash wehn it'll probably be OE, or spend etra effort when I'm going to do it at 24 anyway. So is there any easily avaliable weapon I can use in the meantime? If not, I'm going to upgrade a Flamethrower up to C0C. (Ps. The kits are all rollable, right?)

Eradicator XCI-52 (AR + FlingShot, probably don't need to touch FlingShot aside of implanting it), or BBI Gyro, if you can live with the FullAuto requirement. You can also try guns with just AR as requirement, i.e. Flamethrower or the bloody Gatling Saw 20k.

No idea about the upgrades, I remember doing special NPC missions; if they can be rolled, all the better.

The upgrades aren't rollable. The basic upgrade (to 000) is vendor buyable from the NPC near the prison in Borealis. The other parts, including the first one if you find it too expensive to buy, drop from engineer type mobs and from all type robotic mobs.
